The Department of Labor and Employment on Tuesday said that there are about 380 slots more in Metro Manila for those who want to avail the "EnTSUPERneur" program, a combined initiative of agency and the Department of Transportation.
In a radio interview on Tuesday, DoLE National Capital Region assistant regional director Atty. Jude Thomas Trayvilla said that P450 million has been allocated for 14,000 beneficiaries this year, including 252 drivers and operators in Marikina City last Friday.
"We're still processing the 380 remaining slots. Those who want to avail have to wait next year for the awarding of assistance," Trayvilla said.
Launched October last year, the joint project by the DoLE and DoTr aims to provide alternative livelihood assistance to drivers, operators and other members of the transport sector who have been affected by the modernization of public utility vehicles and the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Trayvilla said that each individual will be given a P30,000 worth of livelihood assistance.
"The beneficiaries are those in the transportation sector — drivers, operators, conductors, dispatchers, mechanics and allied workers, and members of office transportation cooperatives," Trayvilla said.
