The families of the children who died following their inoculation of the dengvaxia vaccine years ago have demanded the head of Department of Justice Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes Andres, stressing that Andres has a conflict of interest with the case.
Samahan ng mga Magulang Anak ay Biktima ng Dengvaxia president Sumachen Dominguez lamented that they suffered after the dismissal of some 24 cases handled by the DoJ National Prosecution Service which is under the direct supervision of Andres.
She added that their anger was further increased due to the dismissal of the cases which, in their minds, was due to the "machinations" of Andres since he is the counsel of Iloilo Representative Janette Garin — then the DoH chief — who ordered the inoculation of the vaccine to children to counter incidence of dengue in the country.
