Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco lauded the influx of global recognition for local tourist destinations. The Philippines reemerged as the World's Leading Country at the Uzakrota Global Travel Awards 2022 after its first win in 2020.

It also picked up 13 recognitions in all categories available at Scuba Diving›s 2023 Readers Choice Awards by US-based Scuba Diving Magazine, and adjudged the World's Leading Dive Destination 2022 by the World Travel Awards.

Meanwhile, Cebu was listed as 19th in 50 Best Places to Travel in 2023 by Travel Lemming. Palawan was cited by US-based travel guide Fodor as one of 40 destinations on its Go List for 2023.
