Vivamax's Laruan is only Franki Russell's second movie, and yet she wishes it was her first.
The Pinoy Big Brother alum had debuted in the daring flick Pabuya with Diego Loyzaga that screened last October.
"I actually feel like, I don't know if I should say this, but I wish this [Laruan] was my launching movie," Russell said in an online media conference.
Laruan, directed by Yam Laranas, is about four people engaged in a game of lust, deception, manipulation, and schemes.
Camille (Russell), who is married to Rene (Jay Manalo), invites Geoff (Kiko Estrada) to dinner at home, at the same time asking him to bring along a date.
Leaving Rene, and Geoff's date, at the dinner table, Camille and Geoff dare to have some hot, dangerous sex.
The trysts give Camille a sense of power and confidence.
A twist of fate happens when Geoff introduces a new date to their regular dinner, Thea (Ava Mendez). Rene and Thea bond over a common love for art and fall for each other, triggering jealousy and rage in Camille.
She then plots to make life miserable for Thea.
"This shows a different side of me. It's such a different take, I can really express myself," Russell said.
She said it's Laranas who pushed her to deliver a remarkable performance.
"I'm very excited… it'll show a different side of me that even I have never seen," said Russell.
Laruan premieres 16 December on Vivamax. Viewers can also stream it on Vivamax Middle East.
