Bong Go highlights SHC’s accessible healthcare services
Sen. Bong Go continues to push for the establishment of more Super Health Centers nationwide to ensure that more Filipinos will be able to access quality and affordable basic health services.
In his video message during the two-day relief effort in San Pedro City and Sta. Cruz, Laguna on 15 and 16 November, Go expressed his confidence that building more Super Health Centers in rural communities will significantly help unburden hospitals, echoing the Department of Health's goal to reduce the occupancy rates in hospitals.
"Swerte tayo na magkakaroon kayo ng Super Health Center dito sa probinsya ninyo. Isinulong po natin at ipinaglaban na magkaroon ng Super Health Center dito sa inyo dahil alam ko po kung gaano ninyo kailangan na mapalapit sa inyo ang serbisyong medikal ng gobyerno," said Go.
"Naiintindihan ko po na napakalayo ng inyong barangay sa sentro kaya naman kami na po gumawa ng paraan para hindi na kayo lumayo pa. Magkakaroon tayo ng 307 na Super Health Centers sa buong bansa," he added.
In Laguna, Super Health Centers will be established in the cities of Biñan, Cabuyao, Calamba and Sta. Rosa; and the towns of Alaminos and Mabitac in 2022. DOH plans to build more in other areas in the succeeding years.

Services in the Super Health Center will include database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit.
Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service, oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation center and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done.
Held at the Brgy. Calendola Covered Court in San Pedro City and Sports Complex in Sta. Cruz, Go's team provided snacks, masks and shirts to 1,345 struggling residents. Select beneficiaries also received cellular phones, watches, bicycles, umbrellas and balls for basketball and volleyball.
Representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development were also in attendance and provided financial assistance.
