President Bongbong Marcos on 9 November commended officials investigating the murder of broadcaster Percy Lapid's death.
"This case was almost practically solved in 17 days. I think we can say the investigating bodies have done a good job," Marcos told reporters en route to the ASEAN Summits in Cambodia.
"They will keep doing a good job until we come to the actual conclusion of this investigation."
Marcos referred to one of two accused masterminds, suspended Bureau of Corrections chief Gerald Bantag, as "like a god inside the penitentiary."
