HMPH recently became the newest member of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines, which aims to educate the public, accelerate society's adoption, as well as partner with the government and other institutions in support and encouragement of the country's use of electric vehicles.
EV Strategy
Hyundai Motor Company marks 2021 as its first year toward electrification. The brand is committed to being a frontrunner in the field and have set goals to achieve clean mobility. By 2025, there will be a total of 23 eco-friendly models in its lineup. The target is one million units and a 10-percent share in the market, with 30 percent coming from the Asia-Pacific region.
Electric-Global Modular Platform, the brand's first dedicated EV platform which enables 800-V of ultra-fast charging and increased driving range of up to 481 kilometers. The battery pack's position under the floor within the wheelbase ensures ideal weight distribution between the front and rear and a lower center of gravity for improved handling.
Since it is specifically built for EVs, it was reshaped to eliminate the space for the engine and axle to maximize interior room. Also built with an ultra-high strength steel structure for enhanced protection.
Ioniq — the brand's first fully-electric range of sustainable and futuristic models.
The first being the IONIQ 5, a midsize SUV which was globally launched in 2021 and was previewed in the country last month. Following in 2023 is the Ioniq 6, a midsize sedan that is based on the concept EV "Prophecy" and in 2024, the Ioniq 7, a large SUV.
Each equipped with the most technologically advanced features, including the world's first patented multi-charging system and driver assistance features like autonomous driving.
Innovate everyday
HMPH's local tagline is a call to action to produce innovative products and programs that will improve the quality of life and daily experiences of Filipinos. Guided by the brand vision of "Progress for Humanity", it aims to be a medium of bringing back joy to travel and making the most out of time when driving.
• Vehicle-to-Load — allows users to store and convert energy to power up external devices and appliances such as a coffee machine, microwave, electric bike, and other equipment. Developed in a way that owners can be worry-free on and off the road, as the vehicle serves as a 3.6 kW power supply when out for camping or in crises or relief operations.
• Vehicle-to-Vehicle — grants users the capability to charge through or be a "roving service." Designed to boost the confidence of owners by providing aftersales support at a time and place of their choice similar to towing requests or emergency rescues. When faced with unforeseen battery discharge, it takes only 15 minutes to gain about 44km or 7KWh.
"Hyundai Motor has always been vocal in its commitment toward mobility that rewards people and the planet. This pursuit for sustainability aims to empower individuals yearning for a green world that they can be in charge of living out change starting with our Ioniq 5," according to HMPH's deputy general manager for marketing, Mark Parulan who presented earlier along with head honcho, Dong Wook Lee. "Its signature look is definitely special and hard to miss. Though not only is it a mere display, but also the source powering up the café here at our booth. This is made possible via its V2L functionality which we urge visitors to check and learn first-hand. Don't miss this chance and grab a freshly brewed cup."
