Quezon City also won several honors from the DILG-National Capital Region 2022 Urban Governance Exemplar awards

The local governments of Quezon City, Muntinlupa, Caloocan, Mandaluyong and Navotas have received the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance awards from the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the DILG recognition inspires them to work even harder to provide services to their constituents. The city also won in 2019 before the award was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Under Republic Act 11292, the Seal of Good Local Governance award recognizes all LGUs that strive to better their performance in fulfilling their mandates on financial administration, disaster preparedness, and social protection.
The award also focuses on the LGUs' sensitivity program, health compliance, sustainable education, business friendliness, environmental management, tourism, heritage development and youth development.
Quezon City also won several honors from the DILG-National Capital Region 2022 Urban Governance Exemplar awards.
Belmonte said the city was feted for its protection of children, peace and order, anti-drug abuse initiatives, and the protection of women and children from violence.
Earlier, the Quezon City government emerged as the top local revenue-generating LGU in Metro Manila, doing so for the fourth straight year, thereby making the Department of Finance-Bureau of Local Government hall of fame in the event held at the Philippine International Convention Center.
The local government earned P22.9 billion in revenues from real property, business and other taxes, such as amusement, transfer and contracting, among others for 2021.
