Hong Kong has always been a popular tourist destination for Filipinos with its rich tourism and cultural assets.
With the lifting of the compulsory quarantine requirement for overseas visitors since late September, the city is ready to welcome Philippine travelers back to experience its unique facets.
Hong Kong Tourism Board cites the Philippines as a crucial market to retain presence and visibility to keep Hong Kong as the top-of-mind destination among Filipino travelers.
"We all agree that the pandemic posed a huge challenge to all economic sectors including global tourism and this has reshaped the overall tourism landscape," Raymond Chan, regional director of Hong Kong Tourism Board Southeast Asia, said.
Among the places HKTB are highlighting are the Old Town Central, Sham Shui Po districts, and West Kowloon.
Old Town Central is well-known for its colorful and artistic street art, modern cafés and retail shops. Sham Shui Po, meanwhile, is one of the city's oldest districts and one of its most authentic neighborhoods. It is known for its fantastic local food including the Michelin recommended ones.
On the other hand, The West Kowloon Cultural District is one of the largest cultural precincts in the world. Its latest infrastructure developments are the Hong Kong Palace Museum, M+, West Kowloon Promenade and Art Park.
Travelers going to Hong Kong are no longer required to undergo hotel quarantine upon arrival but are advised to observe a three-day medical surveillance period.
"This is a big step for us and we look forward to sharing more good news with you in the days to come. We hope to see you soon in Hong Kong to enjoy the different experiences in these amazing neighborhoods," Chan said.
