Team Secret and RRQ Philippines landed a highly-coveted Riot Games partnership as the prestigious Valorant Champions Tour Esports tournament becomes a franchise for Valorant International Leagues in 2023.

Riot Games conducted strict background checks from the wave of applications that went its way before the official start of the league.

The tournament will be separated into three regions: Americas, EMEA, and the Pacific, where Team Secret and RRQ PH would play at.

"In 2023, we're introducing three new VALORANT International Leagues with 10 partnered teams each, which will represent the premier level of competition in the VCT. Earlier this year, we kicked off a robust selection process to choose the partners for each league," Riot Games announced.

"We've now identified the 30 teams and are confident that they're the right partners to help us build the next era of the sport and deliver amazing experiences to fans around the world."

"The process was incredibly competitive, and we were humbled by the interest and the overwhelming number of applications we received. The selection spanned months, including a written application, in-depth interviews, and financial reviews."

Team Secret, a European Esports powerhouse that has a bootcamp in the Philippines, is composed of an all-Filipino squad of Jessie Cristy "JessieVash" Cuyco, Jayvee "DubsteP" Paguirigan, Jim "BORKUM" Timbreza, Kevin "Dispenser" Te and Jeremy "Jremy" Cabrera.
