The University Athletic Association of the Philippines will have a full calendar of sports events for Season 85 starting 1 October.
UAAP President Fr. Aldrin Suan of host school Adamson and Executive Director Atty. Rebo Saguisag announced Tuesday during the online session of the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum that the league will hold a total of 60 events in 21 sports for the first time in three years.
The UAAP only had seven sports competitions in Season 84 early this year including center-piece men's basketball and women's volleyball as the league resumed action following a shortened Season 82 in 2020 and the cancellation of Season 83 last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This season's sports calendar will have men's and women's basketball, badminton, chess, table tennis, men's and women's beach volleyball, swimming, athletics, cheerdance competition, judo, taekwondo, men's and women's football, men's and women's volleyball, fencing, softball, baseball, 3×3 basketball, streetdance and lawn tennis.
High school competitions will also be back for the first time since the onset of the global health crisis with boys' basketball, girls' and boys' volleyball, football, boys' and girls' beach volleyball.
