Bren Esports denied Blacklist International of being the first team to make it to the playoffs following a 2-1 upset over the latter on Week 6 Day 2 of MPL Season 10.
After scoring one point each, Bren went for the jugular in Game 2 with its Yve, Balmond, Karrie, Lolita, and Paquito lineup while Blacklist played Mathilda, Uranus, Melissa, Lunox, and Dyrroth.
The teams fought toe to toe throughout the deciding stanza but it was Bren's lord take that got the job done.
With lord on their side, a clash broke out near the pit which allowed Bren to pick apart Uranus and Dyrroth en route to ending the series in 25 minutes.
"We are aware that if they won they are going to the Playoffs. That does not affect our play style," Bren's team captain Pheww said after the match.
"That is nothing to us. Coach Duckeyyy wanted to give back to the fans because the last time we were here they got so silent."
The victory improved Bren's standing to 6-5 with 16 points, placing them at the no. 5 spot on the ladder while Blacklist fell to no. 2 as they dropped to 6-4.
