The Supreme Court (SC) has yet to act on a petition seeking to halt the implementation of the revised voting threshold to convict Vice President Sara Duterte in her impeachment trial.

In a resolution dated 14 October, the SC instead directed congressional leaders to comment within five days on the petition filed by Senators Robinhood “Robin” Padilla and Christopher “Bong” Go, who are also senator-judges in the trial, and other petitioners.

The Court required the respondents to comment without formally accepting the petition for full consideration.

The petitioners also sought a temporary restraining order to prevent the revised threshold from taking effect.
