More than 20,000 tickets have been sold for Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate, building momentum toward what organizers hope will be the largest one-day tennis event in Philippine history.

The event, scheduled for 8 December at the Philippine Arena, will feature Eala against Janice Tjen of Indonesia in a headline match bringing together two of Asia’s leading young tennis players.

Eala, 21, expressed gratitude for the strong response from Filipino fans ahead of her homecoming.

“It’s amazing to know that so many fans have already bought tickets to come and watch us play. Thank you to everyone back home for the incredible support. I can’t wait to walk out at the Philippine Arena, hear the roar of the crowd and take on Janice on 8 December,” Eala said.

It will be the world No. 20 netter’s second tournament in the country this year since making a quarterfinal appearance in the WTA 125 Philippine Women’s Open last January.

Organizers said demand has exceeded the capacity of traditional tennis venues in the country, opening the opportunity for more Filipinos to witness the sport on a grand stage.

Tatler Philippines managing director Irene Francisco said the response reflects the growing interest in Eala and the opportunity to inspire more young athletes.
