BATANGAS — Police arrested two high-value individuals and seized more than ₱1 million worth of suspected shabu and an unlicensed firearm during a buy-bust operation in Rosario town early Wednesday.
The operation was conducted by the Rosario Municipal Police Station’s drug enforcement team at around 2:17 a.m. on 7 October in Barangay Baybayin.
Police said the suspects were caught during the operation conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in CALABARZON.
Authorities recovered approximately 150.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug value of ₱1.023 million.
Also seized was a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber revolver with a defaced serial number and six rounds of live ammunition.
Police also recovered the ₱1,000 buy-bust money and a black body bag.
The inventory of the seized evidence was conducted at the scene in the presence of a barangay official, a media representative and the suspects.
The two suspects and the seized evidence were placed under the custody of the Rosario police.
Authorities are preparing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
