DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the theme reflects the department’s efforts to expand access to safe, decent and affordable housing.
“At the heart of every housing project is a family looking forward to a better life. Every home built offers security, every community developed creates opportunities, and every right protected helps give families peace of mind,” Aliling said.
Activities include housing exhibits at the DHSUD central office from 5 to 8 October, featuring programs and services of the department and partner agencies.
The weekly “Kapihan sa Radyo” will also be held every Tuesday at 3 p.m. to discuss housing and urban development programs.
On 19 and 20 October, the second government-led National Housing Expo, organized by the Pag-IBIG Fund, will be held at the SM Convention Center.
The activities follow the 1 October topping-off of Jab Residences Towers C and D of the 4PH-Sampaloc III project in Barangay Paliparan, Dasmariñas, Cavite.
The project, being implemented by Megawide Construction Corp., is planned to provide 4,000 socialized condominium units under the 4PH program.
National Shelter Month is observed every October under Proclamation 662, series of 1995.
