Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. on Saturday announced the arrest of four suspects and the rescue of three victims in separate kidnapping cases from 25 to 29 September 2026, including cases involving Chinese nationals.
On 29 September 2026, operatives of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) Luzon Field Unit arrested a 48-year-old wanted male suspect in Maitim 2nd East, Tagaytay City, while serving a warrant of arrest.
The warrant, issued by the Regional Trial Court, National Capital Judicial Region, Branch 297, Pasay City, was for kidnapping for ransom and serious illegal detention, with no bail recommended.
The arrest stemmed from the alleged involvement of the accused in the kidnapping of a Chinese national on 31 July 2024 at the open parking area of a major shopping complex in Pasay City.
The arrested suspect was brought to the PNP-AKG headquarters at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City, for proper disposition.
In a separate case, the PNP-AKG initiated intelligence and investigative efforts after receiving information regarding the alleged abduction of a female Chinese national on 17 September 2026.
Continuous information gathering, case backtracking and validation, in coordination with partner agencies, led to the victim’s rescue in Makati City on 25 September 2026 and the arrest of one female suspect.
Further intelligence development and information sharing led to another operation in Parañaque City on 27 September 2026, resulting in the rescue of two additional victims and the apprehension of two Filipino male suspects.
