Veloso family gets P50K
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Luzon gave P50,000 in cash assistance to the family of Mary Jane Veloso during a visit Sunday in General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija.
Veloso and her parents received P30,000, with each getting P10,000. Her two sons, Mark Daniel and Mark Darren Candelaria, also received P10,000 each.
The DSWD also assessed Veloso’s eligibility for its Sustainable Livelihood Program. She expressed plans to open a sari-sari store at their home in Nueva Ecija.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently granted Veloso an absolute pardon following her 16 years of detention in Indonesia over a 2010 drug trafficking case.
Veloso returned to the Philippines after Indonesia granted her a transfer of imprisonment in December 2024.
