A double main event featuring an all-British heavyweight showdown starring Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua and Manny Pacquiao against Shakur Stevenson is being eyed for the Welsh capital of Cardiff on 11 or 18 December.

Reports from the United States said on Thursday that the camps of Pacquiao and Stevenson are deep in talks for a 12-rounder taking place at the 78,000-capacity Principality Stadium.

Pacquiao, who turns 48 on 17 December, hasn’t fought since holding Mario Barrios to a majority draw in Las Vegas in July 2025.

Many ringsiders believe that the Filipino southpaw had done enough to merit the decision that would have made him a world champion given that Barrios was the defending World Boxing Council welter king at that time.

But it couldn’t be determined which weight class Pacquiao and Stevenson are going to be fighting.

Stevenson, 18 years younger at 29, has won four world titles in as many weight classes.

Also a southpaw like Pacquiao, the New Jersey-born Stevenson holds an undefeated win-loss-draw record of 25-0-0 with 11 knockouts.

Last time he fought, Stevenson beat Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden in New York early this year to bag the World Boxing Organization and The Ring magazine junior-welterweight crowns.

Parading a 62-8-3 slate with 39 knockouts, Pacquiao is expected to be installed the underdog given his inactivity and age.

Pacquiao was supposed to face Floyd Mayweather this month but legal problems on the side of the unbeaten American scuttled the rematch originally penciled for The Sphere.
