Eala holds late practice

SINGAPORE – Alex Eala granted the wishes of her fans as she held an open practice session ahead of her Round of 16 stint against Tatiana Prozorova of Russia in the WTA 500 Singapore Tennis Open at the OCBC Arena on Thursday here.
After emerging from a Q&A session, where she delighted her fans by answering various questions about fashion, food, friendship and life in general, the 21-year-old Filipina granted their requests by holding a 30-minute workout with her Spanish coach Sandro Viaene on Court 1 on Wednesday night.
Her workout nearly stole the thunder from top seed and world No. 5 Mirra Andreeva, who was battling Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus in their Round of 16 duel at Center Court.
Eala’s workout wasn’t really hard. She just returned the ball from her hitting partner just to break a sweat and get into the rhythm before her crucial clash with the Russian world No. 166.
After that, she thanked her fans, signed autographs, and smiled for a brief photo-op, making sure that everybody – especially those who bought tickets thinking that she would be playing on Wednesday – would have a good time.
