College students from nine universities and colleges recently explored the history of Philippine currency and learned about the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) role in the economy through the central bank’s “Student Tours.”

The tours were held on 25 and 27 August and 2 September at the BSP Hub, the central bank’s one-stop shop for public services along Roxas Boulevard in Manila.

Students from Ateneo de Manila University, Centro Escolar University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, De La Salle University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine State College of Aeronautics, University of Makati, University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas participated in the activities.

As part of the tour, the students traced the evolution of Philippine money at the BSP Money Museum and explored information resources at the BSP Library.

They also learned about the BSP’s mandates through its 33rd Anniversary Multimedia Exhibit and short lectures held at the Hub’s auditorium.

The BSP said the Money Museum is open to the public from Mondays to Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the BSP Library is open on the same days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 33rd Anniversary Multimedia Exhibit is likewise open Mondays to Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until 16 September 2026.
