Filipino champion Pedro Taduran in November in Metro Manila, has been overcome with joy with the deluge of messages he has been receiving from well-wishers.
Moreno is already in the thick of training for his 14 November clash with Taduran, who will make the fourth defense of the International Boxing Federation minimumweight crown possibly at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
“I am overwhelmed with your messages,” said Moreno from his training camp in the Spanish capital of Madrid, adding that he has intensified his preparation for the biggest bout of his career.
Moreno holds a 15-0-0 win-loss-draw card with five knockouts.
Though he has almost exclusively fought in Madrid and its environs, Moreno, 33, is training to win and not just to take part.
Taduran, packing a 20-4-1 mark with 14 knockouts, is also neck-deep in training at the Elorde Sports Center in Parañaque.
He defended the IBF 105-pound title last April in the United States where he stopped Mexican Gustavo Perez Alvarez at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.
The country’s only reigning world champion, Taduran is being managed by Elorde siblings Marty and Cucuy and promoted by Sean Gibbons of Viva Promotions.
His first two defenses came against Ginjiro Shigeoka of Japan and Christian Balunan of the Philippines in May and October 2026, respectively.
