Get ready to say Prost! as the Philippines’ premier leisure and entertainment destination brings back Oktoberfest for its fourth year, running from 28 to 31 October at The Ballroom of Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts.
For four nights, the ballroom transforms into a lively Bavarian beer hall, complete with long communal tables, overflowing steins, hearty German fare, live music and good-natured competition.
Here are five reasons to make Oktoberfest part of your October plans.
1. Drink beer with nearly 1,000 years of Bavarian brewing
No Oktoberfest is complete without beer, and this year’s celebration pours Weihenstephaner throughout the evening.
Guests can enjoy Weiss, Wheat and Dunkel served on tap, bringing the brewing heritage of the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan in Freising, Germany, to Manila. Recognized as the world’s oldest brewery, Weihenstephaner offers a fitting pairing for a festival rooted in more than two centuries of tradition.
2. Feast on hearty Bavarian favorites
Come hungry. The award-winning culinary team of Newport World Resorts serves up a generous Bavarian spread designed for sharing.
The feast begins with warm laugen pretzels and German breads before moving on to hearty favorites such as sausages, crispy pork knuckle and schnitzel. Traditional sweets round out the meal, giving guests plenty to enjoy between rounds of beer and music.
3. Dance along to live music
Oktoberfest is as much about the music as it is about the food and beer—and AnTon Showband returns from Bavaria for all four nights.
Expect familiar songs, playful energy and the kind of performance that can quickly turn a room full of diners into a singing, cheering crowd. As the evening picks up, don’t be surprised when the space between the tables becomes part of the dance floor.
4. Put your skills to the test
Once the steins are raised, the friendly competition begins.
Guests can test their strength with Stein Holding, race for bragging rights at Beer Chugging, or take on the precision and nerve required for Hammerschlagen. With the rest of the room cheering them on, even the most casual festivalgoer can find themselves caught up in the competitive spirit.
5. Experience Oktoberfest
After four years at Newport World Resorts, Oktoberfest has grown into more than a lineup of beer, food, music and games.
At its heart is the communal spirit of the celebration—long tables filled with friends and fellow revelers, steins raised together and an evening that builds from a first pour into a full-blown party.
This October, Newport World Resorts once again brings the spirit of Bavaria to Manila for four nights of food, music, camaraderie and plenty of Prost! moments.
