Miss World Philippines 2026 Asia Rose Simpson has added another major achievement to her international campaign after emerging as the Asia and Oceania continental winner of the Head-to-Head Challenge at Miss World 2026.

The 18-year-old Filipina earned the distinction following a speech that placed Vietnam—and the experiences she has gathered in the host country—at the heart of her message. The victory also secured Simpson a coveted place in the Top 40 ahead of the Miss World finals on September 5.

For the final Head-to-Head round, Simpson reflected on how her understanding of Vietnam has evolved since first visiting the country in 2025 for a sports outreach program.

She recalled discovering Hanoi’s historic quarters, trying Vietnamese coffee and observing the country’s bustling streets. Returning for Miss World, however, allowed her to see far more of Vietnam beyond those initial impressions.

Her journey with her fellow candidates introduced her to different destinations and landscapes, from golf greens and vineyards to mountains and beaches. Simpson also drew comparisons between Vietnam and places familiar to her, saying that some scenery reminded her of America while its seas and oceans brought thoughts of the Philippines and home.

More than the destinations, Simpson focused on the Vietnamese people and the values she encountered during her stay.

“Beyond the beautiful scenery of Vietnam I saw the people,” she said, highlighting humility, respect, hospitality and the importance of family as qualities that stood out during her experience.

She concluded by presenting Vietnam as a destination capable of offering different experiences to travelers—whether they are interested in history, relaxation or adventure—describing the country as possessing a “timeless charm.”

The Head-to-Head victory strengthens Simpson’s bid as she continues her quest to bring the Miss World crown back to the Philippines. Should she ultimately capture the title, she would become the country’s second Miss World winner after Megan Young’s historic victory in 2013.

With a Top 40 spot now secured, Simpson moves another step closer to that goal as the Philippines awaits the Miss World 2026 coronation night on September 5.
