A 45-year-old vulcanizer was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, on 23 August, resulting in the confiscation of 0.60 gram of suspected shabu valued at P4,080 based on the estimated standard drug price.

The operation was conducted at around 12:01 p.m. by personnel of the Pasuquin Municipal Police Station as the lead unit, together with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office, PDEA AIU, Police Intelligence Team of Ilocos Norte-RIU1, Provincial Intelligence Unit of INPPO, RID Ilocos Norte, RID PRO1, and 1st Ilocos Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Police said the operation was conducted in coordination with PDEA Region 1 and resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect is a 45-year-old married male and resident of Pasuquin.

Authorities recovered four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with a combined weight of 0.60 gram. The sachets were identified as the sold and seized items.

Also recovered were a genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, a gray wallet, a red Trust condom sachet, a transparent plastic sachet containing six 2x2 identification pictures, a red pack of Chesterfield cigarettes containing one cigarette stick, a pink comb, and P81 in various denominations identified as personal money.

The inventory and marking of the seized evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect and mandatory witnesses, as required by law.

The suspect was placed under police custody for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
