A 34-year-old man was apprehended for usurpation of authority and violation of Section 7 of Republic Act No. 10591 during an Oplan Bakal operation in Las Piñas City early Monday morning, 24 August.
At about 1:20 a.m., personnel of the CAA Sub-Station conducted the operation at a resto bar along J. Aguilar Avenue, Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos.
The suspect, identified as alias Noe, allegedly introduced himself as a member of the Philippine Army and disclosed that he was carrying a firearm inside his belt bag.
During verification, he failed to present a valid Philippine Army identification card but produced a License to Own and Possess Firearms, Firearm Registration and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence.
Police confiscated a .45-caliber Thunder Bolt pistol bearing serial No. TB09190789, five magazines, 49 rounds of live ammunition and a black belt bag.
Criminal complaints for usurpation of authority and violation of Republic Act No. 10591 are being prepared for filing before the Las Piñas City Prosecutor’s Office.
