  • A leader of the former Kilusang Larangang Gerilya (KLG) North Abra was arrested during a joint law enforcement operation at Barangay Parista in the town of Lupao, Nueva Ecija on 21 August 2026.

The said joint law enforcement operation was conducted by the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police (PNP).

According to the Philippine Army, the suspect has long been hiding from authorities after his group was dismantled by the government. The Philippine Army lauded the successful operation of the soldiers and police in the continued pursuit of remnants of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs).

The Philippine Army assured that they will continue to hold operations along with fellow law enforcement agencies to find and arrest remaining members of the armed group.

The Philippine Army has urged the remaining CTG members to surrender, and return to a peaceful life with their families.
