  • The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) brought its flagship financial education program to Nueva Ecija, drawing nearly 200 participants onsite and another 1,100 online for a two-day session aimed at helping micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) strengthen their financial management and business operations.

The BSP conducted the third leg of its 2026 Economic and Financial Learning Program (EFLP) in Cabanatuan City on 18 and 19 August 2026, continuing its efforts to make financial education more accessible, particularly to underserved sectors.

Held under the theme “Planong Panalo Para sa Negosyo,” the Nueva Ecija session focused on MSMEs and covered recent economic developments, cash flow management, responsible borrowing and the safe and secure use of digital financial services.

Participants also learned strategies for building consumer trust and explored insurance solutions that can help MSMEs protect their businesses and prepare for future opportunities.

BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat underscored the importance of maintaining good financial health, particularly for businesses.

“It helps a business meet obligations, absorb unexpected expenses, and decide when to borrow or invest,” Romulo-Puyat said in a recorded message.

The Nueva Ecija leg marked the third EFLP session for 2026. The first two were held in Manila and Zamboanga, with the Manila session focusing on employees and the Zamboanga leg targeting the agricultural sector.

The program was co-organized with the Department of Trade and Industry–Nueva Ecija Provincial Office. The event also featured booths for financial account opening and National ID registration.
