A “high-value” individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pio Del Pilar, Makati City, on Friday afternoon.
The suspect was identified as alias Mata, 35, unemployed and a resident of Barangay 172, Caloocan City.
At about 4:35 p.m., operatives of the Makati City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a targeted anti-illegal drug operation along San Antonio Street in Barangay Pio Del Pilar.
An undercover officer acting as a poseur-buyer transacted with the suspect for the purchase of illegal drugs worth P70,000. Upon completion of the transaction, backup operatives moved in and arrested the suspect.
Law enforcers seized two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 50 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of P340,000.

The suspect was brought to the Makati City Police Station for documentation.
Formal complaints for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being finalized for inquest proceedings before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
