First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos expressed admiration for the work of press photographers who have documented the events and activities of herself and her husband, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The First Couple graced the opening of the Presidential Photojournalists Association’s (PPA) photo exhibit, “In Focus: Marcos Presidency,” at the Likhang Filipino Exhibition Hall in Pasay City.

Organized in celebration of World Photography Day on 19 August, the exhibit captures significant moments and milestones of the Marcos administration over the past four years, as witnessed and documented by photojournalists covering the President and Malacañang.

The exhibit presents a visual narrative of the President’s leadership and public service, recognizes the vital role of photojournalists in documenting the nation’s history, and preserves important images for the historical record.

Upon their arrival, the President and the First Lady were welcomed by Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez, PPA president and The Philippine Star photographer Noel Pabalate, and Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano.

The First Couple witnessed the ceremonial unveiling of the exhibit’s title board, which features a collage of photographs depicting various facets of the President’s leadership.

The title board was designed by PPA officer Marianne Bermudez of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, with the newspaper-style layout created by graphic artist Oteph Antipolo and the concept developed by Pabalate.

Gomez and Pabalate then presented tokens of appreciation to the President and the First Lady in recognition of their support for the exhibit.

President Marcos received a framed version of the title board’s photo collage, while the First Lady was presented with a crystal podium featuring a 3D photograph of the First Couple.

The President and the First Lady later joined PPA members for a photo opportunity before touring the exhibit with Gomez and Pabalate.

The exhibit features photographs of the President’s official engagements, interactions with Filipinos, meetings with foreign leaders, and other key moments of his administration.
