  • CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The local government of Maramag in Bukidnon province has requested the Philippine National Police (PNP) to investigate an online bomb threat targeting a public high school that circulated on social media Monday.

Maramag Mayor Jose Joel Doromal said in a statement that the municipal mayor’s office received information regarding a social media post warning of a grenade attack on Maramag National High School.

The post warned in Cebuano: “Hello po, nagpaabot kog grenade ugma mga, good luck” (Hello, I will detonate a grenade tomorrow, good luck).

Officers with the Maramag Municipal Police Station are conducting an investigation to verify the authenticity of the post and identify the individual behind the threat.

Doromal appealed to parents, students and school personnel to remain calm and vigilant as the police investigation continues.

He also urged the public to refrain from sharing the threat on social media platforms and to report any related online posts directly to authorities.

“Remain calm and alert and responsible, safety of everybody is top priority,” Doromal said.
