Fashion designer Michael Leyva could not contain his emotions as his longtime friend Kris Aquino made a much-awaited return to the limelight.
Leyva shared a touching open letter on Facebook celebrating Aquino’s comeback, revealing that seeing the “Queen of All Media” return to doing what she loves was a moment he had long prayed for.
“I specifically prayed to God for this day to come. I have always hoped for you to stay healthy and to be able to come back to doing what you love the most,” Leyva wrote.
Aquino recently made her return to the screen after years away from the public eye, marking a significant new chapter following her long health battle.
For Leyva, however, the moment was more than simply seeing his famous friend back in front of the cameras. It was also deeply personal, especially after witnessing the difficult journey Aquino has gone through in recent years.
“People will come and go, but I will always stay by your side, forever,” he promised.
Leyva has been among Aquino’s close friends who have publicly shown their love and support for her through different chapters of her life. Their friendship has also extended into fashion, with the designer creating memorable looks for the television personality over the years.
Aquino’s comeback gave them another special fashion moment, with Leyva expressing his joy at once again seeing her dressed in one of his creations.
“My heart is crying with joy to see the one and only Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, again in Michael Leyva,” he wrote.
The designer ended his message with an affectionate declaration to Aquino, whom he called by her full name, Kristina Bernadette Cojuangco Aquino.
“I love you so much, Ate,” Leyva wrote, surrounding his words with red and yellow hearts—a fitting celebration of a friendship that has endured both the glamorous and difficult moments of Aquino’s journey.
