  • The Okada Foundation Inc. has donated P135 million in medical equipment, vehicles, and health care resources to bolster the public health system of Naga City, officials announced Wednesday.

The donation, formally turned over on 27 July, provides specialized medical instruments to local health facilities, a customized mobile clinic, and a garbage truck compactor to support community health and municipal sanitation.

Attendees at the ceremonial turnover included Okada Foundation president James Lorenzana, Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and local health officials.

“A strong public health system begins with giving healthcare professionals the resources they need to care for their communities,” Lorenzana said. “We hope these donations help strengthen healthcare services across Naga City and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families who rely on them every day.”

The funding equips several major health facilities across the city.

Naga City General Hospital received advanced diagnostic, surgical, and critical care tools, including a 2D echocardiography system, an anesthesia machine, an arterial blood gas analyzer, and specialized maternal care equipment.

Meanwhile, City Health Offices I and II, alongside Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary, were provided with primary care and laboratory equipment, including hematology and chemistry analyzers, portable X-ray units, ECG machines and fetal Dopplers.

City Health Office I alone serves approximately 100 patients daily across 10 barangays with a combined population of 63,000, while Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary treats 50 to 60 patients each day.

Local officials said the customized mobile clinic will extend primary care services to outlying neighborhoods, while the new compactor truck will assist overall public sanitation efforts.

“This is a meaningful partnership for Naga City because it strengthens the work our healthcare institutions do every day,” Robredo said. “With these additional resources, we can better support our healthcare workers and provide quality care to more residents across our communities.”

The Okada Foundation serves as the charitable arm of the casino resort operator Okada Manila.
