  • East West Banking Corp. (EastWest) has launched ECHO (EastWest CMS Help Officer), an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot designed to help business owners better understand and access the bank’s cash management services as more entrepreneurs shift to digital business operations.

The bank said the new digital platform aims to provide entrepreneurs with quick and reliable access to information on collections, payments, payroll, and cash flow management, enabling them to manage their day-to-day financial operations more efficiently.

According to EastWest, micro, small and medium enterprises continue to account for the majority of businesses in the country, while recent business registration data show a growing preference for online registration and renewal due to faster and more convenient transactions.

As businesses grow, the bank noted that financial requirements become more complex, increasing the demand for secure and accessible digital banking solutions that streamline operations and improve efficiency.

ECHO provides users with easy-to-understand information on EastWest’s Cash Management Services, recommends solutions based on business needs, and connects users with an EastWest sales officer for more personalized assistance.

The chatbot forms part of EastWest’s broader digitalization efforts to make banking more accessible and responsive to the needs of Filipino entrepreneurs. The bank said ECHO is designed to continuously expand its knowledge base to deliver more relevant information, recommendations, and support as businesses evolve.

“Business owners need quick access to information so they can focus on running and growing their business. Through ECHO, we’re giving them an easier way to learn about solutions that can help them operate and grow with confidence,” said EastWest chief marketing officer Martin Reyes.

EastWest said it will continue supporting business owners through practical digital tools that simplify banking, improve access to relevant financial solutions, and help enterprises make better-informed business decisions.
