IYKYK: Where to find this makeup in the Philippines

If you have been feeling fatigued by complex makeup routines, a Japanese retailer has just dropped the perfect antidote.

Staying true to its minimalist DNA, Muji recently rolled out its “natural and healthy look” makeup collection, and it is a masterclass in “less is more” beauty. This is why it stands out – rather than taking the celebrity ambassador route, the brand has built upon an “if you know, you know” cult status among beauty fans who appreciate substance over style.

Rather than chasing flashy trends, its cosmetics collection focuses on enhancing one’s natural features. The new line features skin-first base products — including matte powder foundations packed with SPF 30 PA+ and ceramides — designed to seamlessly complement your natural skin tone. For a fresh pop of color, expect “summer-kissed candy colors” via blendable eyeshadows, four-color gradient blushes, and hydrating lip essences that fight dryness while adding a healthy shine.

True to form, the formulas are infused with nourishing botanicals like jojoba seed oil, shea butter and chamomile flower extract. The packaging remains intentionally uniform, specifically designed to snap right into their iconic cosmetics organizers.

Currently making waves with a recent high-profile launch at their SM Aura flagship in the Philippines, this collection proves the best beauty update might just be a return to the basics. It is practical, skin-friendly and effortlessly cool.

Muji, short for Mujirushi Ryohin (“no-brand quality goods”) approaches cosmetics completely differently than the rest of the Japanese beauty industry.

While heavyweights like Shiseido lean into luxury and drugstore favorites like Canmake focus on “kawaii” (cute) packaging and seasonal trends, Muji treats makeup as an extension of simple, everyday living.

It doesn’t ask for your attention with flashy trends; instead, it offers quiet, reliable and skin-friendly basics that blend effortlessly into your daily routine.

Its minimalist, Zen-like aesthetic focuses entirely on the product inside rather than the branding.

The formulations are largely free of parabens, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances and dyes. They are infused with natural moisturizing agents to keep skin hydrated while wearing makeup.

Their eyeshadows, blushes and lip products feature neutral, subdued and earthy tones. They are specifically formulated to enhance your natural features rather than transform them, making them the ultimate tools for achieving a flawless “no-makeup” makeup look.
