The Philippine Embassy in Beirut continues to facilitate the voluntary repatriation of overseas Filipinos in Lebanon, assisting seven Filipinos to return to the Philippines this week.

While the fathers of both families remain employed, the ongoing situation in the region has adversely affected the family’s financial situation and their current salary is insufficient to cover the living expenses of the entire family.

Lebanon remains under Crisis Alert Level 3, which has been in place since October 2023.

Since then, the Embassy, the Migrant Workers Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration have continued to facilitate voluntary repatriation for Filipinos who wish to return to the Philippines at government expense.

Under this alert level, the processing of Balik-Manggagawa applications and the return of contract workers to Lebanon remain temporarily suspended.

Despite the hostilities since 2023, the embassy reiterates that no Filipinos have been reported among the casualties.

Filipinos in Lebanon are strongly encouraged to avail of the voluntary repatriation program while flights remain available.
