South Korean actor Nam Joo-hyuk is wasting no time following his long-awaited return to acting, with two new drama projects already lined up after his comeback series The East Palace.

The 32-year-old star has been confirmed to headline Disney+'s upcoming action-crime thriller Code, where he takes on one of his darkest roles yet.

In the series, Nam plays Yun Tae-joo, a ruthless partner at a prestigious law firm who is willing to sacrifice his morals and ethics in pursuit of success.

His life takes a dangerous turn after receiving an invitation to a mysterious app that promises to grant its users' deepest wishes—only for him to discover that every wish fulfilled comes with a terrifying price.

Joining Nam in the cast are Lee E-dam, Kim Eui-sung, and Park Hoon. Disney+ has slated Code for release in 2027, though an exact premiere date has yet to be announced.

Adding to fans' excitement, Korean entertainment outlet Soompi also reported that Nam will star in another upcoming series, a romance drama tentatively titled Heartbeat.

The project will be penned by Lee Si-eun, the screenwriter behind the hit dramas True Beauty and Lovely Runner. Additional details about the cast and release schedule have yet to be revealed.

Nam first captured audiences' hearts in the 2016 hit drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, where he played the lovable childhood friend-turned-love interest. He went on to establish himself as one of South Korea's leading actors with memorable performances in The Bride of Habaek, Start-Up, Twenty-Five Twenty-One, and Vigilante.

Earlier this month, Nam officially returned to the small screen with the dark fantasy series The East Palace, his first acting project since completing his mandatory military service. In the series, he portrays a man with the ability to enter the realm of ghosts, marking a new chapter in his acting career.

With both a high-stakes thriller and a romance drama on the horizon, Nam Joo-hyuk's comeback appears to be just getting started.
