Reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight champion Pedro Taduran showed up for training on Monday at the Elorde Sports Center in Parañaque.

The start of camp came more than three months after Taduran defended the IBF 105-pound crown with a smashing sixth-round knockout of Gustavo Perez Alvarez of Mexico in Temecula, California.

With his main target Oscar Collazo of Puerto Rico seemingly disinterested in having anything to do with the Filipino southpaw, Taduran is looking elsewhere for a challenger.

Chinese Zhu Dianxing is the guy being looked at but his people and Taduran’s have yet to put a deal in place although they both agree that the fight should happen in October.

Taduran is the country’s one and only reigning world boxing champion at the moment following the defeat of Melvin Jerusalem in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Since taking the IBF title in July 2024 in Japan, Taduran has repulsed the challenge of Ginjiro Shigeoka (from whom he won the crown), Christian Balunan and Alvarez.
