  • Raymond Gutierrez revealed that he nearly returned to acting through a Boys’ Love (BL) project, but the planned production was ultimately shelved when the pandemic disrupted the entertainment industry.

The television host shared that he had seriously considered accepting the role, saying the opportunity appealed to him at the time. Although the project never materialized, Gutierrez said he remains open to acting again if the right story and character come along.

“I think it all boils down to the project, kung tama ba, kung okay ba ‘yung story. It’s not something I’m closing my doors on, but it’s not also something that I’m actively searching,” he said.

“So, I think when the time is right and when the project is right, why not?” he added.

For now, Gutierrez is embracing a new chapter in his career as the newest entertainment and lifestyle host of Agenda, the primetime newscast of Bilyonaryo News Channel.

After spending the past few years focused on his businesses and international hosting engagements, he admitted that he missed connecting with Filipino viewers on local television.

“I missed our local audiences. I liked the idea of being in Bilyonaryo News Channel because this network is not just about entertainment or hard news—it’s an intersection of business, culture, lifestyle and a lot of different topics that I’m also very interested in,” he said.

The newest member of the Agenda team joins respected broadcast personalities Korina Sanchez, Pinky Webb, and Willard Cheng. Gutierrez said the opportunity was made even more meaningful because his parents are loyal viewers of the program and encouraged him to accept the offer.

His return to local television marks another milestone in a career that began in front of the camera as a child actor alongside his twin brother, Richard Gutierrez. While acting is no longer his primary focus, Raymond made it clear that he is ready to step back into the spotlight—if the perfect project finally comes his way.
