As DigiPlus Interactive Corp. scales up its international expansion, the company has joined the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) for a better foothold on Brazil’s regulated betting market.
“Joining the IBJR reflects DigiPlus’ expansion in Brazil, where we already operate the BingoPlus brand and continue to invest in growing our presence in the country,” Graham Tidey, Managing Director of DigiPlus Brazil, said on Tuesday.
“Bringing over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, we pioneered digital entertainment in the Philippines and are committed to replicating this success in the Brazilian market in a responsible manner and in full compliance with regulatory requirements,” he added.
The IBJR represents leading licensed betting operators in Brazil and promotes a regulated, sustainable, and responsible online gaming industry. Its members include BetMGM, Betsson Group, Betano, Betfair, Betnacional, and Sportingbet.
The institute said DigiPlus’ admission helps promote responsible gambling and combat illegal betting operators.
“It is a pleasure to have DigiPlus as a member of IBJR. We are excited about the arrival of the company, a reference in the interactive gaming and sports entertainment market in the Philippines and throughout Asia,” IBJR Chief Executive Officer Carlos Lima said.
“The company’s entry is a demonstration of the maturity of the sector and reinforces its commitment to regulation and the firm fight against the clandestine betting market. We will continue to be committed to strengthening responsible gambling, prioritizing the protection of bettors,” he added.
DigiPlus, which operates BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone in the Philippines, is expanding overseas to diversify beyond its domestic market. Brazil and South Africa are its first international markets.
