Globe Telecom reported that rising data consumption and increased use of digital services drove higher revenues and stronger subscriber engagement in the first quarter of 2026.
The company said mobile revenues reached P30 billion during the period, up 6 percent from a year earlier, supported by robust demand for mobile data and the continued expansion of its customer base to around 67 million subscribers.
Data services remained the primary growth driver of Globe’s mobile business, accounting for 89 percent of total mobile service revenues, up from 85 percent in the same period last year. The shift reflects changing consumer behavior as Filipinos increasingly rely on mobile connectivity for entertainment, communication, commerce, education and financial transactions.
Mobile data revenues grew 11 percent year-on-year, fueled by higher usage of video streaming platforms, social media applications, online gaming, digital payments and other internet-based services. Mobile data traffic likewise increased 18 percent from a year ago, while average monthly data consumption reached approximately 16 gigabytes per subscriber.
Globe said more than 39 million customers are now actively using mobile data services, underscoring the central role of connectivity in the daily lives of Filipinos. The company’s GlobeOne digital platform also continued to gain traction, reaching an average of 8 million monthly users.
To support increasing demand for data services, Globe continued to invest in expanding and upgrading its network infrastructure. During the first quarter alone, the company deployed 408 new 5G sites nationwide, boosting outdoor 5G population coverage to more than 98 percent in Metro Manila and key cities across the Visayas and Mindanao.
The continued rollout of 5G infrastructure forms part of Globe’s broader strategy to enhance customer experience and support the country’s growing digital economy.
“Our priority is to execute our plans effectively. We will deliver a better customer experience through our digital platforms and offer relevant products through hyperpersonalization,” said Darius Delgado, Globe chief commercial officer.
“While we continue to expand our 5G network, we also intend to deepen our fiber footprint and further differentiate ourselves through digital technologies,” he added.
