Thirdy Ravena makes his return to the Japan B.League after signing with the Toyama Grouses on Friday.
Ravena, 29, will be the third Filipino to suit up for the Grouses after Gilas Pilipinas standouts Dwight Ramos and AJ Edu.
The 6-foot-2 guard first made his mark as the first Filipino import in the B.League when he signed for the San-En NeoPhoenix in 2020, starting a new wave of Filipino players to take their talents overseas.
“I am thrilled to be back in Japan and to play as a member of the Toyama Grouses. I will give my all for the team this season, and I look forward to your support,” Ravena said.
The three-time University Athletic Association of the Philippines champion is coming off BC Dubai as he had limited minutes during his stint.
As he makes his Japan return, Ravena will face some familiar faces, starting with his brother Kiefer, who plays for the Ryukyu Golden Kings, and Ray Parks, who now suits up for the Ibaraki Robots.
Ramos will also be returning with Levanga Hokkaido and Edu with the Gunma Crane Thunders.
Toyama hopes to improve after its 24th-place finish 18-42 win-loss record from the 2025-2026 season.
