BAGUIO CITY — As moderate to heavy rains continue to pour, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong announced the suspension of face-to-face classes from preschool to college in both public and private educational institutions in the city.
The directive, issued on 10 July 2026, was prompted by the effects of Typhoon "Inday."
Students, parents, and school personnel were advised to monitor official announcements from the Baguio City government and their respective schools for further updates and guidance. The mayor also encouraged residents to stay safe and take all necessary precautions.
Magalong's executive order will follow. The suspension takes effect at 12 noon on 10 July 2026.
Meanwhile, in the neighboring municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet, Acting Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan suspended classes from kindergarten to senior high school at 7 a.m. on the same day. The suspension covers both public and private educational institutions in La Trinidad.
