Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) has turned over a 6,000-square-meter property in Bicutan to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), clearing the way for the construction of the Bicutan mega station linking the 147-kilometer North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and the Metro Manila Subway.

The Gotianun-led firm said Tuesday that the station is expected to improve access to its adjacent 6.5-hectare property, where it plans to build the Filinvest Pedestrian Link—an elevated bridge and covered walkway connecting its development directly to the station.

"We believe that a progressive economy relies heavily on robust infrastructure," said Tristan Las Marias, FLI President and CEO.

"Our partnership with the DOTr for the Bicutan Station, which will be adjacent to one of our prime properties, is a testament to Filinvest Land's commitment to building the Filipino dream by providing efficient and convenient transportation connections to potential urban growth centers and nearby residential areas," he said.

The Bicutan Station is part of a 5.8-kilometer elevated railway segment that also includes the Sucat Station. Construction is targeted for completion by 2031, with full operations expected by 2033.

The project is expected to create about 350,000 direct and indirect jobs in engineering, construction, rail operations, maintenance, and retail.

Once completed, the integrated station is expected to serve about one million passengers daily by allowing seamless transfers between the NSCR and the Metro Manila Subway, cutting travel times across Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
