Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has partnered with the Iloilo City government to accelerate public sector digitalization by helping local government units (LGUs) and government agencies adopt technology-driven, citizen-focused services.
Through its Converge Global Business Group, the company recently gathered public sector leaders during the "Elevating Connections" executive forum at Richmonde Hotel Iloilo to discuss strategies for advancing digital transformation in local governance.
Iloilo City Data Assessment and Systems Management Office head Atty. Fydah Marie Sabando-Del Rosario said digitalization has become essential to effective governance.
"Embracing digital transformation is a foundational requirement for transparent, efficient, and responsive local governance," Sabando-Del Rosario said.
"By modernizing our data infrastructure, we directly accelerate service delivery and increase accessibility for every citizen."
Converge said it is committed to providing scalable information and communications technology (ICT) solutions tailored to the varying digital needs of LGUs, from basic connectivity to advanced smart city systems.
"Our objective is to empower LGUs and public sector entities at every stage of their digital evolution," said Shion Canen, assistant vice president and head of Enterprise Sales for Visayas and Mindanao at Converge Global Business.
"Whether a municipality is laying its first digital foundation or scaling an advanced smart ecosystem, Converge provides the enterprise-grade infrastructure to maximize operational potential."
Canen said the company's Smart City solutions and secure cloud hosting services enable government agencies to deploy critical citizen applications while safeguarding public records.
During the forum, Converge showcased several technologies designed for the public sector, including integrated Internet of Things (IoT) systems, intelligent traffic management, public safety monitoring, community Wi-Fi, secure cloud hosting, and data resiliency solutions for disaster recovery and continuous government operations.
The initiative is supported by Converge's nationwide pure-fiber network spanning nearly 900,000 kilometers, as well as its international subsea cable investments and expanding data center infrastructure.
The company encouraged local government executives and IT administrators planning digital transformation initiatives to consult with its enterprise solutions team through its corporate portal.
