After years away from television, James Reid is embracing a new chapter in his career — one that combines a celebrated musical milestone with a long-awaited return to primetime. Fresh from receiving recognition for his music, Reid shared that every award carries special meaning because it reflects the passion and dedication he pours into every song.
Following the ceremony, the singer-actor took time to meet the media, where conversation quickly turned to his upcoming ABS-CBN drama Someone, Someday, his first television project in years and one of the network’s most anticipated releases.
Reid spoke warmly about working with Kathryn Bernardo, describing the actress as someone who creates a welcoming atmosphere on set.
“She’s super grounded, very hands-on with the project. She really makes the set feel like a family. I learn a lot from working with her.”
Despite his years in the entertainment industry, Reid admitted that starring opposite one of the country’s biggest actresses came with its own challenges.
“To be honest, I was very nervous. There’s a lot of pressure working with such big names in the industry.”
He added that the experience ultimately became an opportunity for growth.
“I actually learned a lot while working with Kathryn. I’m very excited to watch this project.”
For Reid, Someone, Someday represents more than just another acting assignment — it is a personal homecoming. His previous television series was Till I Met You, while his last feature film appearance was in Miss Granny.
Returning to a familiar environment, he said the transition felt surprisingly natural.
“I felt as if I had never left, like I was back home. I can’t wait.”
The actor also expressed excitement about collaborating with Maja Salvador, saying the series allowed him to explore a creative direction unlike anything he has done before.
ABS-CBN has already unveiled the first special teaser for Someone, Someday, giving viewers an early look at the heartwarming romantic drama ahead of its 27 July primetime premiere.
The preview introduces Bernardo as a confident and compassionate woman who effortlessly balances the roles of devoted sister, dependable boss, and loyal best friend. It also offers glimpses of her chemistry with Reid and Salvador, hinting at the emotional and uplifting journey that awaits audiences.
The series also features an accomplished supporting cast that includes Dimples Romana, Rowell Santiago, Rita Avila, McCoy de Leon, Daniela Stranner and Migs Casimiro.
As the countdown to its premiere begins, Someone, Someday marks an important milestone for Reid — a return to television with renewed confidence, new creative partnerships, and a project that promises to introduce audiences to a different side of his artistry.
