Tecon Suape, the Brazilian port operation of Philippine-based International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), has secured another sustainability milestone after receiving its second consecutive Green Company Seal from the Government of Pernambuco, recognizing its continued efforts in environmental protection, social responsibility, and governance practices.
The terminal was among 16 companies honored with the 2026 Green Company Seal during a ceremony held on 10 June at the Palácio do Campo das Princesas, highlighting businesses that have integrated sustainable practices into their operations.
The recognition reinforces Tecon Suape’s commitment to improving operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact and creating long-term value for customers, communities, shareholders, and future generations.
Established through State Law No. 16.112/2017, the Green Company Seal Program promotes responsible business practices that balance economic growth with environmental conservation and social inclusion. The certification is administered by a commission composed of Pernambuco’s environmental and business development agencies.
For Tecon Suape, the award adds to its growing list of sustainability achievements, including the Ocean Friend 2025 seal, which recognized the terminal’s initiatives in advancing environmentally responsible port operations.
The company has continued to invest in innovation and sustainable solutions as part of its strategy to strengthen Brazil’s port sector while supporting Pernambuco’s agricultural and industrial supply chains.
Tecon Suape operates one of the largest and most modern container terminals in Pernambuco. ICTSI secured the concession to develop, construct, and manage the Suape Container Terminal in 2001 under a 30-year agreement.
Located in the Port of Suape, the facility serves key agricultural and industrial regions in northern and northeastern Brazil through its access to major road networks, supporting trade flows and economic activity in the region.
