Capitol Medical Center (CMC) has been recognized in the Newsweek–Statista Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026, a prestigious international ranking that honors hospitals demonstrating excellence in specialized healthcare across the region.
For the 2026 edition, 925 hospitals across Asia-Pacific were recognized for excellence in 10 specialized medical disciplines: Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Oncology, Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, and Gastroenterology, with Gastroenterology added as a new category this year.
CMC secured its place among Asia-Pacific’s Best Specialized Hospitals in Endocrinology, reflecting the institution’s continued commitment to providing high-quality care for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders. The recognition further strengthens Capitol Medical Center’s reputation as a trusted provider of specialized healthcare in the region.
Published by Newsweek in partnership with global research firm Statista, the rankings are based on three key evaluation criteria.
The largest share of the score, 83.5 percent, comes from peer recommendations from thousands of doctors, hospital executives, healthcare managers, and medical experts across Asia-Pacific. Hospitals are assessed based on professional reputation within their respective specialties, with recommendations from previous years also factored into the final score.
Another 10 percent is based on accreditations and certifications, rewarding hospitals that meet nationally and internationally recognized standards for patient safety, clinical quality, and organizational performance.
The remaining 6.5 percent comes from Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs), evaluating how effectively hospitals gather and use patient feedback to improve healthcare outcomes and the overall patient experience.
The recognition underscores Capitol Medical Center’s continuing commitment to quality improvement, innovation, and evidence-based healthcare, while highlighting that its standards of excellence are recognized not only in the Philippines but across the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Beyond the accolade, the hospital said the achievement reflects the dedication of its doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, and staff whose compassion and expertise have built the institution’s 56-year healing legacy.
The international recognition also coincides with Capitol Medical Center’s 56th anniversary celebration, carrying the theme “Healing Legacy, Caring Beyond Time,” which reflects the values that have guided the institution through more than five decades of service.
As specialized medicine continues to evolve, inclusion in the Newsweek–Statista Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 affirms Capitol Medical Center’s ability to meet international standards while continuously improving patient care and healthcare outcomes.
More than an award, the recognition reinforces Capitol Medical Center’s mission of delivering exceptional healthcare through compassion, excellence, and innovation as it continues its promise of providing “Right Care, Right Here” for Filipino patients and future generations.
