Two Chinese nationals were arrested by police authorities following a robbery incident inside a residential building in Barangay 76, Zone 10, Pasay City on Sunday night, 28 June.
The incident was reported later that evening when the 30‑year‑old Filipino victim, accompanied by a security guard, sought assistance at the Pasay City Police Station's Sub‑station.
According to the victim, while collecting rental payments, he was overpowered by the suspects, with one assailant allegedly pointing a firearm at him while others bound his hands and forced him to transfer funds from his online accounts.
The suspects fled with over P196,000 in cash equivalents, a mobile phone, and other personal belongings.
Responding officers immediately proceeded to the crime scene and initiated investigative protocols. Using a mobile tracking application linked to the stolen phone, police traced the device to a hotel along Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
A coordinated follow‑up operation by Sub‑stations 1 and 10 led to the arrest of the first suspect, who was positively identified by the victim. The stolen phone was recovered.
Information from the arrested suspect then guided officers to another room in the same hotel, where a second Chinese national was apprehended. Several mobile devices were seized.
The case has been turned over to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for deeper probe and filing of appropriate charges.
Two other suspects remain at large, and efforts to locate them and recover unrecovered funds are ongoing.
