Top seeds Avegail Joy Ansay and Maristella Torrecampo won their respective categories in the girls division of the Lucena City-Philta Age Group Championships last Sunday in Quezon.

Ansay whipped Amanda Ortiz, 6-0, 6-0, in the U18 finals while Torrecampo stamped her class over unseeded Maria Isabel Ataiza, 6-0, 6-1, to secure the U16 title.

Second seed Shaner Gabaldon won the U14 crown over No. 1 Ella Mae Paglalunan, 6-2, 6-2, and No. 1 Kyla Caguioa bagged the U12 title over No. 2 Elythia Comia, 6-0, 6-0.

Meanwhile, No. 2 Rafa Monte de Ramos shocked No. 1 Miguel Ricardo Lagac III, 6-4, 6-1, to claim the boys' U18 title in the Philta Group 1 event organized by the Lucena City Tennis Club.

Other winners were No. 1 Nicholas Emmanuel Andal over No. 3 Vivaan Garg, 6-2, 6-2 (U16), unseeded Jay Pante over No. 2 Tyronne Grey Caro, 6-3, 6-3 (U14), and No. 4 Raven Licayan over No. 2 Noel Andre Zachary Zoleta, 7-5, 6-2 (U12).
